Revit 2022 – Find Families in the Project Browser

March 24, 2022 By John Flanagan

Find Families in the Project Browser

The Project Browser shows a logical hierarchy for all views, schedules, sheets, families, groups, linked Revit models and other parts of the current project. As you expand and collapse each branch, lower-level items display.

Although the instances never appear in the project browser, you can select all the instances in the view or in the project by right-clicking a type:

In the lower-right corner of the window, the number of selected elements in the project displays.

Note: You can drag component families directly into your project from the Project Browser. If you want to edit a family listed in the Project Browser just-right click on the family header.

If at any time you've closed an interface element (e.g. the Properties Palette or the Project Browser), you can open them again through the User Interface button in the View tab of the Ribbon. You can also open them from the bottom of the right click menu.
