When working in AutoCAD, it can be time consuming to properly locate dimensions with equal consistent spacing. Neat, tidy annotations increase document clarity and provide a more professional aspect. The Dimspace command is ideal in achieving this task.

Simply type Dimspace on the command prompt and select the base dimension from which the other dimensions will be spaced from. Then select the dimensions to space and enter the spacing amount, alternatively, choose the ‘auto’ option for automatic spacing function. Should the dimensions need to be aligned then set a value of zero. Once complete the dimensions will display in a similar manner to the image below.
