In releases prior to AutoCAD 2023, on installation, the “Dynamic Input” function is turned on, but the icon controlling the function is not displayed in the “Status Bar”, as shown in Figure 1.

Now, on installation of AutoCAD 2023, the “Dynamic Input” function is still turned “On”, but the controlling icon is now displayed in the “Status Bar”, as shown in Figure 2.

Note: - This setting is not saved to the template file but to the user’s laptop / PC and can also be toggled on and off by pressing “F12” on the keyboard.
To control the display of the “Dynamic Input” icon, select the “Status Bar Customise” icon on the far right of the of the “Status Bar”, as shown in Figure 3.

Selecting this icon will display the list of tools that can appear in the “Status Bar”. The “Dynamic Input” icon is located at the top of the menu as shown in Figure 4.

Note: - There is no tick to left of the command, so the icon is not displayed in the “Status Bar”.
Selecting the description will add the tick, and the “Dynamic Input” icon will now be displayed in the “Status Bar” as shown in Figure 5.

The “Dynamic Input” function can now control by the user.
