AutoCAD 2022 – Count #7 - Identifying “Blocks” by Layer

Another function of the “Count” command is the ability to display “Blocks” by layer.

Figure 1 below shows a simple plan of a building. The doors have been split between two layers, “Doors External” and “Doors Internal” and both layers have been set to the colour “Red”. The “Count” command gives the user the ability to check the “layer status of the “Blocks”. The “Count” command gives the user the ability to check the “Layer” status of the “Blocks”.







Right click in the drawing area to display the menu, as shown in Figure 2.

















Select the “Count” command.

Use the default option to select “List All Blocks”, the “Count” pallet is now displayed as shown in Figure 3.













Right Click on any “Block” to display the “Filter Selection” menu as shown in figure 4.













Select “Layer” from the “Filter List”.

The “Block Layer” is displayed below the selected “Block” as shown in Figure 5.










From the example above, two of the “Internal Doors” are placed on the “Doors External Layer”.
